Brethren,
As I write my final newsletter article as Worshipful Master, I wish to express my humble thanks for the opportunity to serve. Even with a few extra months, the time has gone by very quickly, and I am grateful for the assistance and support of so many Brothers. We have a terrific officer line in place and I look forward to supporting our next Worshipful Master and his officers. Please pay careful attention to the following information provided by our Senior Warden Casey Zechman. Greetings Brothers! Summer is rusting into fall. The days are getting noticeably shorter and more mild. School is back in session. We have many exciting events around the corner. September 21 is the 10th District’s One Day Class and will be held in Lima at 8:00am. Please congratulate Findlay’s 8 Masons in attendance. We are excited to see you in Lodge of Master Masons. On October 6th the Sir-Koffs-A-Lot Fundraiser. Dinners will be available for pick up between 11:30 – 2:00 at the Lodge. Tickets are $12:00 and must be purchased. They are available until September 30th. See any of our officers for purchase. The dinner is from Texas Roadhouse. Your choice of pulled pork or chicken breast includes baked potato, corn, and dessert. Proceeds help fund teddy bears for patients of open heart surgery at Blanchard Valley Hospital. They are delivered in person by our brothers. What a wonderful way to give back to the people of our community. Excellent work Brothers. November 6th at 7:30pm is our Annual Meeting. Dinner will begin at 6:30pm. Election of officers will be held that evening, along with other items on the agenda. Look forward to seeing you. November 16th we will have another bus trip to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton for a tour. We have around 50 seats available. More information will be mailed out. Hope to see you in attendance. November 23rd at 3:00pm, Installation of new officers will take place. This event is one of the few events open to everyone. So bring your significant other to watch as this is a wonderful ceremony to observe. December 27th at 6:30pm Table Lodge The Feast of the St. John the Evangelist. This has traditionally been held around June 24th The Feast of St. John the Baptist. This will be a fun twist of tradition. The final Table Lodge of Senior Warden Casey Zechman. This will be an event NOT to miss and will be sure to please!!! Special guest speaker. January 27th at 6:30 Findlay Blue Lodge Inspection. The inspection will be in the Fellowcraft degree. Please help represent Findlay Blue Lodge with your attendance. Strengthen the brotherly love and help us to fill the Blue Room. Senior Warden Casey Zechman Fraternally, Rick Eakin Worshipful Master Dear Brothers:
Summer is finally here! While we’ve had entirely too much rain, let’s hope that more normal weather is on the way. Our Community involvement has been very busy, having done concessions at a recent swim meet at Riverside Park and served a delicious spaghetti dinner to our local first-responders June 22nd. Our bus trip to the Mud Hens on June 21 was great fun, the Hens won, and we had a full bus. Many thanks to Jim Buckingham and SW Casey Zechman for heading up this event. Plans are in the works for a fall trip to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. We hosted a Red Cross Bloodmobile Friday June 21, and will host another in August. We are striving to get our petitioners through their degrees, whether through a One-Day Class (10th Masonic District is Sat. Sept. 21 at Lima Masonic Center), or with us in Findlay. It can be challenging to get our candidates schedules to work with the schedules of the cast, but we will strive to get everyone through! A reminder that the Grand Communication of the Grand Lodge of Ohio will be October 17-19 in Marietta Ohio. Contact me or Secretary Ken Chamberlain for further information. A reminder that our annual meeting and election will be first meeting in November. As we are very pleased with the number of new petitions we have received in the past ten months, it would be great to have YOU at our next meeting! Whether you’ve been absent a month, or many, you are a Brother and are always welcome. (We promise not to notice anything you may have “forgotten”!) One of the greatest gifts of being a Mason is the connection between men of every station, age and background, all standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Enjoy the summer months! I hope to see you at Lodge very soon. Fraternally, Rick Eakin Worshipful Master |
