4th quarter newsletter

12/4/2023

Greetings to all,

First I would like to congratulate Worshipful Brother Drew Charles DeVore on a fine year as Master in which we saw many excellent opportunities for fraternal and familial bonding fulfilled. Following his example, it is my hope that we can do as well or better in the coming year.

I would also like to thank you for electing me to serve Findlay Lodge as its Master for 2023-24. It is truly an honor and a highlight of my Masonic journey. I pray that I will be able to meet and exceed your expectations as a leader. I will be drawing on the lessons learned during the past 2 years here at Findlay Lodge and from my year as Master of Corinthian Lodge #8 TN F.& A.M. I will do my best to apply the wise counsel given to me by those who have traveled the same path before me, and I have great confidence in the fine line of Officers we have just installed to keep the Lodge moving forward.

Moving forward I would like us all to note that, as geometry starts with a point and that point expands to a line and so forth, we need a point to focus on. One point I would like us to focus on for the coming year is simply this, for us as a lodge to continue to provide an environment in which good men can become better men. This is not just for the new brother who is beginning his journey, but for every member of the Lodge. Executive training classes teach us that for a person to improve, they must evaluate their current status, decide on a plan for change, implement the change and re-evaluate to see if that change made a positive difference and then repeat as needed.

I challenge each of you in the coming year to evaluate your progress on becoming a better Man and Mason, and if improvement is desired, create a plan for change. If the Lodge is not providing you with the environment you need to implement your change, ask an Officer to see if we can help to modify the environment. The environment includes but is not limited to; Lodge meeting, gathers, clubs, and groups, as well as the programs and the knowledge of the Brothers providing guidance.

In closing, may the Great Architect of the Universe, who has so inspired the ancient members of our Craft that in the bond of brotherhood they met each other’s needs and first of all men came together in the hidden mysteries handed down to us, give us, we beseech Thee, grateful hearts, that in joyful service we may bring relief to the unfortunate, and in perfect loyalty both preserve our trust and leave behind us an increased inheritance.

Fraternally Yours,
W.B. Albert Leonard Centonze
