Greetings my Brethren,
This year has flown by! Every Worshipful Master says that, but it is true. This is my last newsletter article that I write as your Master. We have had a great Masonic year. I want to thank each and everyone of my officers for stepping up and doing a great job. In all the ups and downs of this crazy year, you have each performed your duties exceptionally and I appreciate each and everyone of you. Additionally, to all Past Masters and brothers that have stepped up when needed, a big thank you! I am looking forward to joining the ranks of Findlay’s Past Masters and supporting the upcoming year’s officers as they navigate the challenges of leading Findlay 227. Finally, I want to thank everyone for all the support, prayers, cards, messages, etc. that you all have shown my family and me during the tragic loss of our daughter Emma. Everything that you all have done has helped us navigate a course no parent should ever walk. A special thank you to WB’s Boyd Durain, and Dave Roth, their wives Georgia Durain and Barbie Roth for their volunteering to help run the funeral dinner. We hadn’t thought to get that covered, but no one knew because they stepped up and ran it like they had expected to do so all along. You all were a blessing. Our sincerest thanks to everyone. Warmest Fraternal Regards, Jim Klausing Worshipful Master Greetings my Brethren,
The year is flying by! Memorial Day gone, the 4th of July is coming up shortly as of the writing of this newsletter. We have some upcoming events in this newsletter cycle that I want to keep you aware of. Mudhens trip July 2 cost is $20.00 PER PERSON AND THE TRIP IS OPEN TO EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF Masonic affiliation. We have a charter bus for the trip and we will leave from the Masonic complex in time to have dinner in Toledo. It is really a great outing so I encourage everyone to go! Please contact WB Rick Eakin for tickets and other information. We will also be hosting our annual corn roast on August 10 at 5pm. This is always a good time with plenty of food and good fellowship to go along with the corn. WB Charles Insley will be heading up this event, so please contact him with any questions. And last but not least, the FAIR!! The first week of September (1st-6th) the Hancock County Fair will be held just around the corner from the Masonic Complex. As you may or mat not remember, we have a fundraiser during the Fair, in that we drive the golf carts around to help people get from their cars to the main fairway or elsewhere on the fairgrounds. We are in need of drivers! The sign-up-book is at the complex and WB Boyd Durain is heading up this effort. If you would like to volunteer, please contact him. Enjoy your summer and be safe. Warmest Fraternal Regards, Jim Klausing Worshipful Master Greetings my Brethren,
What a difference one newsletter cycle makes! In January we didn’t know if we were ever going to have an inspection, and now our inspection is done! Thank you to all the brethren for their hard work in learning and practicing your parts. (Although I write this a few days before our actual inspection, I know that we did Findlay proud.) Congratulations to our newly raised brother, John Hayes. Our work isn’t finished, as we have at least 3 more candidates who are ready to begin their Masonic journey. We will be holding an Entered Apprentice degree during our regular stated meeting on April 21st for those candidates. Breakfasts have resumed and we are all happy about that ban being lifted. Please come out and support the “breakfast bunch” on the first Saturdays of the month. They always put out a good spread and if you go away hungry, it’s your own fault. We will not be hosting an Easter Egg hunt this year however, we are gearing up for some activities where we can share some much-needed fellowship time. Look for more information about our July 4th celebration and other activities as we are seeing more and more restrictions loosen as time goes on. Thank you again to all brethren of Findlay Lodge for making this time as Master enjoyable and fulfilling. The time is certainly flying by. Warmest Fraternal Regards, Jim Klausing Worshipful Master |
