Fraternal Greetings,
As I am writing this I am watching it snow outside my window. It's hard to believe less than two months ago it was in the 80s! Yet winter is here and that means the activities are increasing around Lodge. Installation was a great time and I am excited to report that we have a full officer lineup this year! I would like to thank the officers for their willingness to be in the line and the work that that entails. I would also like to thank our installation team of WB Haupert, WB Wheeler, RWB Blank, WB Durain, and Bro Horton, for their efforts that evening. It was my honor to present, with RWB Blank, our Senior Member Awards to our 25, 35, 40, 50, and 60 year members. Following this was our annual fruit basket delivery weekend where we present fruit baskets to all Brothers 85 years old and older. This is a wonderful opportunity for some of the younger members to experience some brotherly fellowship with our senior members through stories and laughter. The following weekend was our annual Children's Christmas Party where we invite youngsters of the community into the lodge for snacks, crafts, a stocking full of toys, and visit with Santa. While open to all children, we make an effort to reach out to organizations that work with underpriviledged youth and it's a wonderful experience to see these children have a Christmas experience that they otherwise will not have. A very special thank you to the Rainbow Girls for all of their crafts and activities with the children! With the coming of January we see the start of Inspection season. In January there are 5, Febuary 3, March 2, April 2, and in May 1 inspection. I would love for Findlay to have a good showing this year so I encourage anyone that is interested in going to let me know and we can meet at the complex to carpool. Findlay's inspection is Saturday, January 14, at 10am, in the Fellowcraft degree. Following inspection we will have a full lunch of Wilson's burgers and assorted sides, so please be sure to mark your calendar to attend this event! Other than inspections, winter will be fairly slow. Saturday, February 25, is the Grand Master's Reception in Lima. Please see myself or SW Wenner if you would like to attend. Then on March 25 will be the Grand Master's One Day Class in Findlay. Don't forget that our lodge meetings are the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm. This year we are having pre-meeting dinners at 6:30 and trying to wrap the meetings up sooner rather than later in order to get everyone home at a reasonable time. If you haven't attended lodge in a while I ask that you stop by and see what you're missing. If that doesn't fit into your schedule, stop by on the first Saturday of the month 7-9am for our public breakfast. By the time you hear from me again the temperatures will be rising and snow piles dwindling. Hoping you had a Merry Christmas and wishing you a great 2017! Fraternally, Jason Pontious Worshipful Master Comments are closed.
