Greetings from Findlay Assembly #173

We have just 1 to 2 active Rainbow Girls and their school schedules are so hectic that we have a difficult time getting together.  With 2 members it is difficult to do a ritualistic meeting at this time, so we are meeting the 3rd Tuesday of every month .  At these meetings, we are doing social activities and service projects with some 5 young girls that will hopefully someday join us as Rainbow Girls.  These girls are 4-11.  If you have a young girl this age group, who may be interested in joining us, please send them our way by either contacting myself or Georgia Durain.

The Grand Worthy Advisor’s service project is raising money for Honor Flight, if you would like to help us with this project, you will find paper planes.  The donation is $1.00 each.  Please place your name on your plane and place money in the envelope.  We appreciate your help and support with this project.  PLEASE NOTE, the GWA will be using these as part of her decorations and would like them going a certain Way.  There is an example for you.  Thanks! In the months ahead, we look forward to doing some Spring Activities and service projects.

In Rainbow Love and Service.

Greetings from Findlay Assembly #173,

Greetings and Happy New Year from Findlay Assembly #173.

We have enjoyed meeting some younger friends to get them acquainted with Rainbow.  We will be meeting just once a month due to our low membership of our girls that are of age.  We will be doing service projects or social activities on these evenings.  If you know anyone from the age 6-10 that may be interested, please send them our way.

We currently have 3 young girls and possibly 3 more that will be joining us soon!

Two advisors worked the Christmas party and had fun doing  so.  Thank you Rita Follas and Barb Pace.

We are still collecting shoes.  We are halfway to our goal.  We are hoping to finish this project up by the end of January.  We apologize for the ongoing project, and we thank you for your help.  As family and friends are cleaning out to make room for the new from Christmas, please ask them if they would be willing to donate gently used shoes.

Greetings from Findlay Assembly #173,

We enjoyed a cookout and swim party at Mom Anast’s home.  It was good to see everyone and catch up.  We began our regular meeting schedule in September 25, 2021:1st Monday of the month is social/service meeting and we must meet in the dining room or off site.  The 3rd Monday of the month we have our ritualistic meeting.

Our Grand Assembly was for 2 days only in August, Brynn Follas, Grand Jr. Executive represented our Assembly very well. We are so proud of her.  Our Ohio Grand Worthy Advisor, Micaela Leach has many projects for us to do.  We will share these as we do them.  Please watch for fliers or notices to each of your group’s bodies or as they are posted in the building.  We so appreciate your support.  Her major service project is raising funds for Honor Flight.  We have airplanes to sell for $1.00 a piece.  We will have an envelope with airplanes, directions on what to do as thy will be part of Grand Assembly decorations for next year.

We continue to do a service project or social activity with girls who are not quite old enough to join yet with the hopes of hooking them to our order for future membership.

We have not quite collected our shoes, so we are still collecting shoes.  Our goal is to collect 120 bags with 25 pairs of shoes in each bag.  For those that have already donated, thank you! If you haven’t yet, please do so.  We need about 200 more pairs to meet our goal, so that we do not have to pay for shipping which would be HORRENDOUS! Please dig a little deeper in those closets or perhaps ask a family and neighbors for some.  Also, please do not take any shoes as we are working hard to raise money for our assembly so that we may help others.  If there is a lot, Lori Anast will be happy to pick them up. Thanks!

We are looking forward to getting back together, regularly!

If you know of any young girls that would be interested in becoming a Rainbow girl and are not 11 yet, please share with us.  We are attempting to interest young girls by doing activities with them.  Ages 6-10 are ideal. Please help us grow and keep Rainbow alive!

We have been able to meet in person for the month of May.  Several were unable to attend, but it was great to be in person.  We weeded a flower bed for Jim Klauing’s Church and laid ten bags of mulch.  At our next meeting, we also made centerpieces for a nursing home and we met Dick and Kathy Barrick’s beautiful granddaughters.

We are doing a service project or social activity with girls who are not quite old enough to join yet with the hopes of hooking them to our order for future membership.

In July, we look forward to Grand Assembly at the end of July and will most likely have a cook out and swim party at Mom Anast’s.  In August, we will not formally meet, but will have some kind of fun activity.

We are still collecting shoes.  Our goal is to collect 120 bags with 25 pairs of shoes in each bag.  For those that have already donated, thank you!   If you haven’t yet, please do so. Thanks! If you have girls 6-11 yrs. Of age, please send them our way for Pledge group activities.  To be a  Rainbow girl the age is 11-20.  We need them too.

Greetings from Findlay Assembly No. 173,

We continue to meet via Zoom and work on service Projects for our local nursing homes.  Mom Anast delivers supplies and picks up finished projects and delivers them to our selected places.  Our last project was personalized valentines for the Alzheimer’s Unit at the Heritage.  We plan on making Spring/Summer wreaths for their doors in the future.  We are anxiously awaiting for the time when we can meet in person.

Greetings from Findlay Assembly No. 173,

Like many of our Masonic groups, COVID has put a wrench in our meeting in person.  We are staying in touch via Zoom, and we are working on a service  project, making ornaments for residents for a couple of our nursing homes in town.  The girls are working on them from home.  I will porch pick them up and get them delivered.  We are remembering those who may be struggling with the holidays, especially our nursing home residents that are not allowed to have visitors.  We did manage to fit in an initiation on October 17th, with several Toledo and Fremont Assemblies, just prior to our county and several others turning to level red.  We're grateful, as we initiated 5 girls among the districts.  It certainly was not our traditional ritualistic floor work, but it was still beautiful and met social distancing and mask requirements and everyone remained safe and healthy.  We welcome Lily Payton to our Assembly, she joins us from Upper Sandusky.  We are so excited to have her with us.

Like all of you, many of our plans are on hold, but we are hoping to be able to get in an installation of officers after the first of the year and on March 14 we are to host the Grand Reception for our Grand Officers.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Lori Schmidt, Grand Deputy for District 8 on the loss of her father to COVID and to the Leatherman family on the loss of Sheri’s father (Mia and Abby’s grandfather) also to COVID.

Blessings to you and your family!

Happy New Year!

Greetings from Findlay Assembly No. 173,

It has been a long spring and summer with no meetings.  We did do a Zoom meeting with our Sister Assembly, Lima No. 78.  We look forward to coming back and look forward to initiating 2 candidates along with some others from Lima and District 10 October 17, 2020.  There is a box in the dining room.  We are collecting gently used or new shoes.  This serves two purposes, an opportunity to raise money for our assembly and to assist those in need of shoes.  Our goal is to fill 300 bags. (25 pairs in each bag)  We appreciate any help you can give us!

Do you know a girl from age 11-19?  Talk to her about  Rainbow.  Need help?  Let us know.

On June 10th, a joint installation was held in Findlay with our  Sister Assembly, Lima No. 78.  Leslii Silveus was installed by her sister Victoria.  It was a special evening, where we also had the honor of having, both the Grand Worthy Advisor and Grand Worthy Associate Advisor of Ohio in attendance, and serving on our installing team, as well.  In addition to Leslii being installed, Sister Mia Leatherman was installed into the station of Fidelity and Sister Abby Leatherman was installed into the office of Confidential Observer, along with the officers of Lima into their respective stations.

Leslii’s Bible verses are : Isaiah 40:29 and Psalm 31:24, her theme is Mulan, her symbols are crickets, red paper, lanterns, fireworks, and Mulan characters, her colors are: pink, teal, navy blue, and red.  Her flower is the cherry blossom and her quote is “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all”  Her Songs “Reflections” and “A Girl Worth Fighting For” Her service Projects will be: Write letters to veterans for Honor Flight, Adopt a Grandparent, Salvation Army Angel Tree, & Assist with the Masonic Christmas Party.  Her fundraisers will include Serving Masonic Dinners and a Bake Sale.

We will be having a joint inspection with Lima Assembly on June 25th in Lima.  At our 1st meeting in July we will be putting  finishing  touches on things for Grand Assembly.  Mia and Mom Rita Follas will be attending Ohio Grand Assembly July 11th-14th.  We will not formally meet the remainder of July and August, but will get together for some social events and/or maybe some service projects.  If the weather stays clear long enough we will have a pool party. If not, we will find something fun to do.  We will meet formally again, beginning September 16th.  We will look forward to a new member, Scarlett, joining our assembly sometime in the Fall.

There are pamphlets in the Rainbow box  at the Complex.  Read about us, or visit gorainbow.org or ohiorainbow.org to learn more. Or come to one of our meetings.  We meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.  1st Monday is ritualistic and 3rd Monday is usually a service or social project, but held at the Complex.   Call, text or email me, as sometimes we travel to other assemblies and help them with initiations and special events.

Have a wonderful summer!
